Tadzhik Flat Bread- Lepeshka -Blooper
Sometimes mistakes happens in the kitchen and if it happened to you, please do not feel embarrassed. Today I was invited to my friend’s house where we were making traditional Central Asian cuisine and one of dishes was Tadzhik Lepeshka, the recipe for this bread is posted here. But something went wrong and instead of the very light, puffy bread we were expecting we got this:
I believe the problem was with the flour that we used and the amount of the flour we used. For the recipe I posted here I used a bread flour and measured exactly 3 1/2 cups for that recipe, today we used much more flour and it was all purpose flour which I believe was a mistake.
I promised my friend that I will make this bread again specially for her lovely family. It was upsetting that this recipe did not work out because her family was looking forward to taste this wonderful bread. But I think this is one of this learning experiences which will help me to adjust this recipe and make it easy for others to follow.
Bread is one of the hardest dishes to make and it never comes the same even for an experienced baker. It is one of the foods that takes time to master with many failures and successes. This is why I would like to tell you that it worth to try it and success will come one day!
