Pasta with Cauliflower
After all of my good cooking and coming this week holidays and all of these good food that I am expecting my husband will surprise me with , I decided to think about to cut down in my calories and have healthy lunch. I found this recipe in one of my old cooking books and immediately decided to make it. I like Cauliflower and I believed that it will be a good combination with pasta. It is very easy to make and it is very tasty. You should try to make it too!
For one serving you will need:
• 2 bacon strips
• 1 cup of Cauliflowers florets
• 2 ounces of whole wheat pasta
• 2 tablespoons Parmesan cheese
• 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
• few leaves fresh sage
• salt and paper to taste
Cook pasta according to the instruction on the package. Reserve 3/4 cup of the cooking water form pasta.
In skillet brown bacon until crisp.
Then transfer it onto a paper towel-lined plate and let it cool;
Add sage to your bacon drippings and cook it until crisp.
Put it on the paper towel as well.
Then add the Cauliflower to the skillet where you just cooked then bacon and sage and cook it until it gets to a golden brown color. Pour reserved water from pasta and cook until your Cauliflower is tender.
Add Parmesan cheese to the Cauliflower and cook it for a 1 minute then add pasta and toss until creamy.
Then chop bacon and sage into small pieces. Add cooked and chopped bacon and toss to combine.
Sprinkle with shredded Parmesan cheese and sage on top of your pasta before serving, serve it warm.
