Grilled Parmesan Sourdough Bread
Our family loves bread even though it has a lot of calories we cannot refuse to buy it occasionally. We use bread as a complimentary dish to any Italian meal, it is great for soups and salads, and it can be used as an appetizer for guests and even as a complete meal.
For this recipe I prefer to use sourdough bread. This bread has a unique flavor and texture which is perfect for grilling. When our family lived in California we were always buying French Sourdough Bread made by company named Colombo, where we live now we found a few alternatives to unique northern California bread but they are not as good.
For 4 servings you will need:
• 4 tablespoons olive oil
• 4 tablespoons fresh ground Parmesan cheese
• 4 slices of sourdough bread
• Any greens for garnishing
Preheat skillet or top stove grill with olive oil. Bring bread into the grill and grill it for 3 minutes on each side.
Set top stove broiler to high. Place grilled bread on baking shit, sprinkle each piece with Parmesan cheese and stick it under the broiler for 1 minute.
Garnish each piece with your favorite greens and serve by itself or to complement a main dish.
