Easy and Delicious Pumpkin Pie
Pumpkin pie is a traditional American dessert for Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners. I never truly understood the taste of this pie, it always tasted very plain to me. But my husband and daughter love this pie and I decided to find a recipe which will be easy to make and will satisfy the taste for everybody in my family. I tried many different recipes and none of them I really liked, I even gave up one day and decided just buy this dessert for just my husband and my daughter and get something else for myself until I found this recipe that sounded delicious for me. This pie has a light sweet taste and good balance of spices and it also has the silky texture of cream cheese which I very much enjoy.
For one 8″ inch round pie you will need:
• 1 package pie crust
• one 15 once can pumpkin pure
• 1 can sweetened milk
• 2 eggs
• 1 teaspoon cinnamon
• 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
• 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
Preheat oven to 425F. In large mixing bowl combine together eggs, pumpkin pure, and sweetened milk and mix it until all ingredients are well incorporated. Then add cinnamon, nutmeg, salt and ginger and mix it well again.
Lay one crust on the bottom of 8″ round baking pie dish.
With your second pie crust you can make pie decorations, like shown below. Apply your decorations around the crust the way you like.
If you would like to make an additional decorations and place them on top of your pie, they need to be baked separate.
Pour filling into the middle of the crust.
Bake your pie 15 minutes at 425F then low the heat to 350F and continue to bake it for another 35 minutes. Pie is ready when the knife comes out clean.
Serve your pie cold with whipped cream. Enjoy your holidays!
